Debbie Ellingboe and Randy Kahnke Named ‘The POWER 30: Business Litigation 2023’ Honorees by Minnesota Lawyer

Minnesota Lawyer recognized business litigation partner and group leader Debbie Ellingboe and partner Randy Kahnke as “The POWER 30: Business Litigation 2023” honorees. The award highlights those whose mere presence on a case signifies the stakes, who have influenced the direction of the law, whose leadership in the community is pervasive and whose respect within the bar is undeniable.

To create the list of honorees, the publication interviewed respected attorneys and other leaders around the state, reviewed outcomes of myriad significant cases handled by these and other attorneys and consulted its archives to highlight people whose achievements and influence are recognized as powerful business litigators in Minnesota.

In Ellingboe’s profile, she said, “We have a real trial attorney culture in the firm and the group…We really respect one another and trust each other’s opinions.” Regarding the wide variety of talent in the litigation group and at the firm, Ellingboe added, “Getting to know a new crop of talented attorneys has been a lot of fun…It’s a fabulous job.”

In Kahnke’s profile, he stated, “Even if you know litigation is going to be inevitable, how can you be putting your best foot forward?” He also highlighted the protection of data, including trade secrets, and other breaches of confidentiality, as well as the Minnesota statute that now severely restricts the use of non-compete agreements.
