Faegre Baker Daniels is one of 62 firms that earned the Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity’s (LCLD) 2018 Compass Award for participation in and support of LCLD’s mission and programs.

The Compass Award designation—new in 2018—is reserved for the most active LCLD member corporations and law firms. It recognizes individuals and organizations that fulfill all of the following requirements in a calendar year:

  • Participation in the LCLD Fellows Program
  • Participation in the LCLD Pathfinder Program
  • Participation in an LCLD Pipeline Program (1L Scholars Program or the Success in Law School Mentoring Program)
FaegreBD has been an LCLD member since the organization’s founding in 2009. LCLD is an organization of more than 250 leaders of major corporations and top law firms, focused on creating a truly diverse U.S. legal profession.

FaegreBD’s support of LCLD reflects a commitment to diversity and inclusion, which is a core value of the law firm.

In addition to the 2018 Compass Award, FaegreBD received the 2018 Working Mother recognition, was among 42 U.S. law firms to receive 2018 Gold Standard Certification by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum, and was named as the eighth best law firm from women in Law360’s 2018 “Glass Ceiling Report.

The firm has also adopted innovative programs dedicated to the retention and advancement of women and diverse professionals, including the Mansfield Rule, which ensures consideration pools for select leadership and governance roles are represented by women lawyers and lawyers of color; and “On Track for Partnership”— a team-driven and technology-supported sponsorship initiative designed to accelerate professional growth, promote career advancement, and unlock leadership opportunities for women lawyers and lawyers of color.
