Drinker Biddle Announces Its Leadership of New Information Governance Initiative

Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP today announced that it will serve as a charter sponsor of the newly formed Information Governance Initiative (IGI), a cross-disciplinary consortium and think tank focused on advancing the adoption of information governance practices and technologies. The IGI will focus on publishing research, benchmarking surveys and providing guidance for practitioners.

In addition to its role as charter sponsor, Drinker Biddle’s Bennett B. Borden will serve as the IGI founder and chair, Jason R. Baron will serve as co-chair and Jay Brudz will serve as its general counsel. All three lawyers are part of the firm’s Information Governance and eDiscovery Practice Group and will support the Initiative’s efforts under the leadership of IGI founder and executive director Barclay T. Blair.

Dedicated to bringing together like-minded individuals to share knowledge and experience in an effort to maximize the potential of information governance, the group’s membership comprises professionals and organizations representing all facets of information governance, including information security, data science, eDiscovery, business management, business intelligence, analytics, records management and more.

IGI’s research and surveys will be available to practitioners, at no charge, on its website www.IGInitiative.com. The site will also create an online community designed to foster discussion and networking among practitioners.
