Mary Devlin Capizzi
Mary Devlin Capizzi is a partner in the firm’s Washington, D. C. office and Government Relations & Regulatory Affairs Practice Group. Mary is a member of the firm’s Alumni Advisory Committee and its Client Service Committee. Mary also served as a managing partner of the firm and was the firm’s first chair of its Professional Responsibility Committee.
Mary’s Practice: Mary provides legal counsel and strategic guidance to clients in the life sciences industry. Mary's practice includes the representation of a number of international industry consortia that address shared challenges and foster collaboration among competitors, regulators and stakeholders. These consortia focus on a broad range of areas, such as global pharmaceutical supply chain challenges, product quality standards, nanomedicines, record and information management, joint research, drug development and data protection. Mary particularly enjoys facilitating industry-wide initiatives focused on addressing and resolving complex regulatory, policy, legal and scientific issues.
In General: Mary is a graduate of Emory University School of Law and the University of Dallas Constantin College of Liberal Arts and Graduate School of Management. She completed foreign study programs at L’Ecole des Cadres in Paris, France; La Universidad de San Luis in Madrid, Spain; Universidad Internacional, Center for Bilingual Multicultural Studies in Cuernavaca, Mexico; and Universitá di Dallas in Rome, Italy. Mary is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and New York. She is a member of a number of associations and is a frequent speaker at life sciences conferences. She also serves as a member of the BNA Pharmaceutical Law & Industry Report Advisory Board.
From 1994 to 1997, Mary worked in the Chicago office, where she focused on securities work and corporate compliance counseling for publicly traded companies.
Personal Information: Mary enjoys running, hiking, reading, traveling with her husband and their six children and telling and writing children’s stories. She serves on the Executive Board at her children's school and is a CYO cross country coach.
