Three Baker & Daniels Partners Participating in National Conference

Three Baker & Daniels LLP product liability lawyers will participate in the American Conference Institute's Drug and Medical Device on Trial Conference on July 18-19 in New York City.

Tom Stayton, a Baker & Daniels partner, is serving as co-chair of the conference, which provides a two-day mock trial of a medical products company.

Other Baker & Daniels lawyers speaking during the event are:

  • Joe Tanner, chair of the firm's product liability practice group, on "Cross-Examination of the Plaintiff."
  • Andrea Roberts, a firm partner, on "Direct Examination of In-House Regulatory Professional Responsible for FDA Submissions."

Medical products liability litigation produced plaintiff verdicts of $51 million, $32 million and $13.5 million in 2006, according to the National Law Journal. The conference will include top defense litigators demonstrating jury selection, opening and closing statements, cross-examination and direct examination.

Baker & Daniels' product liability lawyers represent international, national and local manufacturers and distributors throughout the United States, defending a diverse range of products. Medical devices, pharmaceuticals, automobiles and industrial machines are but a few of the products the firm's lawyers have long represented.
