Local Summer Associates Raise Nearly $14,000 for Local Nonprofits

Summer associates from the city's largest law firms raised $13,880 to help local organizations. The fundraising efforts culminated with the Summer Associates Field Day on Wednesday. The inaugural field day included a variety of events, including a four-person bicycle race, hula-hoop contests and kickball, among other games, all in an effort to raise money for Indianapolis nonprofits.

The event was held at Military Park and was a joint effort between Baker & Daniels LLP, Barnes & Thornburg LLP, Bose McKinney & Evans LLP and Ice Miller LLP. Each of the participating law firms and their staffs were encouraged to make contributions on behalf of their summer associates to be donated to local organizations of the firm's choice.

"The field day was a great success," said Shannon Williams, manager of new lawyer hiring for Baker & Daniels. "The collaboration between the law firms helped us reach our goal to donate funds and give back to worthy organizations."
