FAITE Assisted in Leveraging Federated Learning to Develop Predictive Models for Biologic Properties

Federated AI for Therapeutic Engineering (FAITE) addressed the challenge of developing accurate predictive models for biologic properties by leveraging federated learning, a collaborative artificial intelligence approach that allows companies to jointly train predictive models without exposing their underlying data. Faegre Drinker provided legal assistance, project management, and scientific support by serving as an independent, trusted broker throughout the initiative, coordinating the collection of information from participating companies, facilitating collaboration among the stakeholders, and producing blinded and anonymized analyses to guide the design and execution of the federated learning campaigns. This neutral role enabled the participants to share insights about their data holdings, model requirements, and project objectives without compromising confidential information.
