A national truck fleet leasing company successfully settled a condemnation case brought by the California Department of Transportation for a highway expansion project in the Los Angeles area for $6.5 million and other considerations. The taking involved complex environmental, business damage, real estate valuation and relocation benefit claims caused by Caltrans destruction of the company’s building improvements and the temporary move to another site.
