Caroline (Cari) Wadman provides counsel on product regulatory compliance and is focused on defending companies in complex product liability and mass tort litigation.
Mass Torts & Multidistrict Litigation
Cari has significant experience supporting fact investigation and deposition preparation in large-scale product liability proceedings, including the Social Media Adolescent Addiction/Personal Injury Product Liability multidistrict litigation (MDL) and related Judicial Council Coordination Proceedings (JCCP) in California. Her work included preparing for depositions of plaintiffs, fact witnesses, and treating physicians and assisting with case-wide discovery and litigation strategy.
Medical Devices & Expert Discovery
Cari also has experience handling medical device matters, with a focus on medical record review, expert discovery, and motion practice. She assists in preparing and defending expert witness depositions and drafts pleadings, including motions to exclude expert testimony.
Prior Experience
As a summer associate, Cari was seconded to Allina Health where she combined her legal acumen with her public health background. During law school, Caroline’s exceptional analytical and research capabilities were utilized in her role as a research assistant on a National Institutes of Health grant investigating the legal implications of using polygenic risk scores to predict social traits. Her impressive public health background includes work as an epidemiologist with the Connecticut Department of Public Health during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Personal Interests
Outside of the office, Cari enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, and cheering on the Hawkeyes. She has a one-year-old son and is a proud owner of two boxers. She appreciates reality television (particularly shows on Bravo) and is always looking for an excuse to visit Key West.
