Overview

Cynthia Lee brings more than 25 years of legal experience to advise clients on a range of employee benefits matters in a rapidly changing legal and regulatory environment.

She provides advice to a wide variety of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to universities to group health plans. Her experience includes the following topics:

  • Design, implementation, and administration of welfare benefit and retirement plans
  • Advising covered entities and business associates on HIPAA privacy and security rules
  • Compliance with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and related federal and state laws and regulations
  • Advising settlor and fiduciary committees on plan governance matters
  • Benefits and tax implications of employment matters
  • Special rules applicable to plans sponsored by tax-exempt, church and tribal employers

Prior Experience

Cynthia began her legal career at a U.S. multinational law firm in New York City. More recently, she was in-house benefits counsel at a multinational conglomerate, where she partnered closely with the company’s benefits and compensation team.

Personal Interests

Cynthia enjoys playing the violin, visiting museums and traveling.
