Construction Contracts

Shannon drafts and negotiates agreements in many different areas related to construction work. This includes commercial and industrial construction, infrastructure, renewable energy, and traditional energy production projects utilizing EPC, design-build, GMP, professional services, and procurement agreements. She counsels parties performing a wide range of roles — encompassing everything from utility owners to specialized subcontractors. Shannon advises clients regarding prohibited foreign entity (PFE) and material assistance requirements for certain tax-credit eligible projects. She provides analysis and guidance on jurisdictional-based issues, including indemnification, lien laws, prompt payment, and contractor licensing.

Construction Project Counseling

Shannon supports clients by providing ongoing assistance during construction projects, including counseling regarding changes, delays, tariffs, force majeure, indemnification, and other construction project matters. 

IP Interaction and Counseling

As a USPTO-licensed patent attorney, Shannon provides tailored and actionable solutions for business issues that interact with intellectual property rights.

Engineering Experience

For nearly a decade prior to law school, Shannon worked as a mechanical engineer for two significant global manufacturers. 

Personal Interests

Outside the office, Shannon wants to be outdoors and is kept on her toes by her kids, who have turned her into a full-time referee, chauffeur, and self-appointed expert on selecting the exact jacket combination for adventures in Colorado's ever-changing weather. When the house finally goes quiet, she treasures those rare moments of solitude as though they were billable hours.
