Scott Bays supports clients as they build, protect and leverage the value of their intellectual property portfolios.

Prior Experience

Before joining Faegre Drinker, Scott worked as a summer associate at an Am Law 10 firm, where he reviewed source code and discovery materials in trade secret matters and drafted research memoranda on patent law, federal civil procedure and choice-of-law issues. He also served as a student attorney with the University of Michigan Human Trafficking Clinic, representing trafficking survivors in immigration proceedings and researching legal remedies for stateless workers abroad.

Before law school, Scott worked as a software developer at General Motors, leading a team on an international tax system rebuild, and worked on projects involving system design, cross-functional collaboration and user-focused development.

Personal Interests

Outside of the office, Scott enjoys hiking, backpacking, reading, and playing games with friends.
