Mollie Sitkowski Talks U.S. and China Trade Updates on Simply Trade Podcast

Customs and international trade partner Mollie Sitkowski provided an overview of the trade industry between the United States and China on a recent episode of the Simply Trade podcast.

Sitkowski noted that the recent 90-day trade deal between the U.S. and China “took everything down a notch,” and that the deal will likely bring trade talks back to a more neutral level. Sitkowski added that despite substantial progress, many tariffs, such as on steel and aluminum, remain.

“So, these are huge numbers,” Sitkowski said. “There are still really large tariffs, and that number is not okay for some people. Even the underlying 25 percent during Trump’s [first presidency] was enough to push manufacturing outside of China.”
