Libby Baney Comments on COVID-19 Public Health Emergency With Digital Health Business & Technology

In an article by Digital Health Business & Technology, government and regulatory partner and senior advisor to the Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies Libby Baney discussed the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) next steps as the COVID-19 public health emergency soon comes to an end. She said, “This is the moment for the DEA to show that they can complete this next step. We have a hard deadline.”

Baney noted that she is advising provider clients to start making backup plans immediately. “You don’t want to cut people off from these medications cold turkey. You might have to start weaning them off sooner than later [if you can’t see them in person]. You can’t just say on May 10, ‘Sorry, I didn’t think about it.’”
