The Changing Sanctions of the UK Against Russia

Global Legal Post

London attorneys James Ellis-Rees, Emily Evans and Christopher Jefferies recently published an article, “The Changing Sanctions of the UK Against Russia,” in The Global Legal Post. The article discusses how current regulation by the UK could lead to more entities being caught by sanctions.

The UK has imposed “wide restrictions on trade, aircraft, shipping, immigration and financial sanctions including asset freezes against designated individuals and entities, restrictions on financial markets and services and directions to cease doing business.”

In the article, recent changes are noted, such as the Boris Mints case and the analysis of “control” that may lead to a much wider range of entities being caught by the Russia Regulations than previously thought.
