WGN News Turns to Libby Baney for Insight on Illegal Online Pharmacies

WGN News reported in a segment that 95% of online pharmacies are operating illegally. Government and regulatory affairs partner and senior advisor to Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies (ASOP Global) Libby Baney spoke with the news channel about the dangers of online pharmacies and safe practices.

Baney shared that consumers should go to pharmacies they know and trust rather than buy through social media or online from unverified sources. She also highlighted that if you do purchase online, you should verify before you buy to make sure the company is a licensed pharmacy.

Baney also discussed how online pharmacies are a global problem and therefore challenging to enforce.
