Drew Soshnick Featured in Indiana Lawyer on the Rewards of Pro Bono Work

In 2013, the IndyBar partnered with legal service providers in the Indianapolis area to assist in family law cases on a pro bono basis. As 2014 ushers in the second year of this initiative, additional lawyers are needed to assist those who don't have the means to pay for needed legal services. FaegreBD partner Drew Soshnick, who concentrates his practice in counseling and representing individuals in family law matters, spoke with Indiana Lawyer about how fulfilling the program has been to him and the positive impact it has on the community. "Serving clients on a pro bono basis is a most rewarding part of our profession," Soshnick said. "For example, to be part of an appropriate child custody placement and see the look on the face of a gratified parent or grandparent is an indescribably good feeling that cannot be measured. All lawyers should volunteer their time to help those in need and experience these heartwarming situations."

Lawyers interested in volunteering to assist in a family law or minor guardianship pro bono case are urged to contact Caren Chopp at cchopp@indybar.org.
