Strengthening Board Oversight of Sub-Advisors

At the 2026 MFDF Fund Governance and Regulatory Insights Conference, investment management partner Gwen Williamson led a session titled “Strengthening Board Oversight of Sub-Advisors.”

The session highlighted the responsibilities of fund boards in sub-advisory oversight at the selection and hiring stage, the legal requirements regarding the sub-advisory contract, and the board’s ongoing oversight of the adviser with respect to recent regulations, complex products, trading, risk, and other matters.

The annual conference brings together independent fund directors, industry service providers, and key voices in Washington to discuss the pertinent issues affecting fund boards.
