Faegre Drinker was proud to host British Robinson, CEO of the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy (BBF), and Meghan Cox Gurdon, author and children’s book reviewer for the Wall Street Journal, for a lunch and learn on the importance of literacy and how reading enhances our lives.
The session highlighted the work of the BBF and how literacy is linked to better health, greater civic engagement and higher earnings in the labor market. Meghan shared insights from her book, The Enchanted Hour: The Miraculous Power of Reading Aloud in the Age of Distraction, and how reading aloud consoles, uplifts and invigorates at every age.
