Employment Issues Heating Up This Summer


We held an interactive and engaging discussion featuring lawyers from Drinker Biddle’s Labor and Employment Group in New Jersey, as part of our ongoing series of breakfast seminars.

We discussed the practical application of new employment laws and key updates to employee handbooks and related policies, including:

  • The interplay of unpaid and paid leaves of absence given the recent FLA amendments and paid sick/safe leave laws, and the new DOL guidance on FMLA
  • Confidentiality policies
  • Equal pay and setting compensation
  • Arbitration agreements

We also addressed “breaking news” including updates on the DOL’s proposed new rules on overtime and joint employer liability.
