HR Health Care Advisory Board Meeting

Chicago partners Michael Rosenbaum, Dave Wolfe, Sarah Millar, Stephanie Gournis and Jen Breuer, along with District Policy Group Executive Vice President Jodie Curtis, attended and/or spoke at the HR Health Care Advisory Board meeting on May 2. The biannual two-day health care meeting is hosted by Deloitte and Drinker Biddle.

Michael and Brian Augustian of Deloitte provided the opening introductions and overview. They also closed the meeting, leading a group discussion of issues and updates raised by the Advisory Board members.

Stephanie presented “Health Care Labor & Employment Update,” and covered recent law updates, legislative developments and best practices for compliance.

Jen and Kristin O’Connell Upton of Bon Secours Health System presented on Telehealth and discussed legal considerations for telehealth offerings, nurse licensure compacts, and privacy and security considerations.

Jodie discussed the first 100 days of the Trump administration and the Affordable Care Act in a presentation titled, “ACA & Post Election Update.” Selected topics included: Affordable Care Act recovery, additional subcabinet nominations and hearings, children’s health insurance program reauthorization, FDA Drug User Fee Acts, tax reform, Medicaid policy changes and Medicare policy changes.
