The Benefits of the Benefit Corp

Associate Lizzie Babson spoke on a panel at the 2017 Northeastern University Law Review Symposium, titled “The Benefits of the Benefit Corp,” on March 24, 2017. Lizzie was joined on the panel by Edward Damiano, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of Beta Bionics, a benefit corporation and certified B Corporation.

The panel discussed the legal and business aspects of choosing the benefit corporation business structure, and how that choice has affected financing opportunities, reporting standards, board structure and potential for impact.
