Brian Paul Receives Seventh Circuit Bar Association Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Service

Faegre Baker Daniels Partner Brian Paul received the John Paul Stevens Pro Bono and Public Service Award for outstanding pro bono work in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals at the association’s annual meeting.

He was commended for his “consistent commitment to pro bono service…[and his] dedication to enhancing appellate advocacy.” He received the award at a dinner keynoted by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan and Holocaust survivor Eva Kor.

Most of Paul’s Seventh Circuit pro bono cases have been direct criminal appeals, but more recently the Seventh Circuit appointed him to handle a federal habeas appeal and an appeal in a civil rights case, both of which are pending on petitions for certiorari at the U.S. Supreme Court.

Paul was commended for not only performing excellent pro bono appellate work, but also for encouraging his peers to get involved.
