Indiana State Bar Association Awards Brian Paul with David Hamacher Public Service Award

Brian Paul, a partner in Faegre Baker Daniels’ business litigation group, has been awarded the 2016 David Hamacher Public Service Award by the Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA).

Founded in 1986, the ISBA is the principal legal association in the state with its nearly 12,000 members. The award was created to honor the memory of David Hamacher, a former chair of the ISBA Appellate Practice Section. In order to be considered, a nominee must have high moral character and ethical standards, service to the community and peacemaking qualities.

Paul contributes to the community by serving as a Criminal Justice Act attorney and helping with the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Homeless Project. He also earned a spot on the Faegre Baker Daniels Pro Bono Honor Roll in 2015. He is a member of the Appellate Practice Section of the Indiana State Bar Association.

In his practice, Paul is a skilled and accomplished appellate lawyer. He has briefed and argued everything from weighty abstract constitutional issues to tangible dollars-and-cents commercial matters and any number of issues in-between. Paul’s name appears on more than 70 decisions, and he has had a direct hand in scores of others. Over the years, he has served many times as a panelist or lecturer on appellate-related topics, and he has also written extensively on appellate litigation.
