Customs and International Trade Team Secures Successful International Trade Commission Vote

Drinker Biddle’s Customs and International Trade team scored a significant victory for two clients in a recent appearance before the International Trade Commission. The clients – one based in Italy, the other based in Spain – had been restricted from exporting to the United States for close to 18 years under an antidumping duty order focused on stainless steel wire rods. The Drinker Biddle team, led by Douglas J. Heffner and Richard P. Ferrin, helped the Commission reach the determination that the existing antidumping duty order would not likely lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time. The Commission vote for Italy was 4-2 and the vote for Spain was 6-0, and as such, both clients are free to begin exporting to the United States again.
