On September 5, 2023, a team of Faegre Drinker litigators achieved a victory for their client in a federal criminal trial. The client was arrested by the Chicago Police Department for unlawfully possessing a weapon; he was subsequently indicted by the federal government with one count of unlawfully possessing ammunition.
At trial, the Faegre Drinker team was able to attack the sufficiency of the government’s evidence allegedly establishing possession. After a three-day trial, the jury deliberated for a mere hour and a half before delivering a unanimous “not guilty” verdict.
