UMass Completes Brandman University Transaction to Form UMass Global

United States - California | United States - Massachusetts

The University of Massachusetts (UMass) completed a transaction to become the controlling parent entity of Brandman University in Irvine, California. Brandman will now be known as UMass Global and will serve as the primary vehicle for UMass’s significant expansion into online education. The transaction is transformative in that a public university will control a nonprofit institution that is now positioned to become one of the leading distance education institutions in the United States.

Faegre Drinker represented UMass in the deal, both on corporate and regulatory matters.
