U.S. Contractor Obtains Declination of Prosecution in DOJ Investigation

Faegre Drinker was engaged by a U.S. contractor in a DOJ investigation of State Department security contracts performed in Iraq, following voluntary disclosure made by another law firm and a DOJ demand for multimillion dollar penalties. We conducted a further internal investigation and made a presentation on the conflicting evidence and ambiguities in Iraqi law, with the result that the DOJ declined prosecution.
