Couche-Tarde Acquires The Pantry for $1.7B

In March 2015, Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. (Couche-Tard) acquired The Pantry in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $1.7 billion including debt assumed. Our firm represented Couche-Tard in the deal.

Couche-Tard is the leader in the Canadian convenience store industry. In the United States, it is the largest independent convenience store operator in terms of number of company-operated stores. The company has more than 6,000 stores and 60,000 employees throughout North America. The company also has operations across Europe and Asia. North Carolina-based convenience store chain The Pantry operates more than 1,500 stores in 13 states.

The deal was a finalist for M&A Advisor's 2015 Energy Sector Deal of the Year.
