Overview

Mikell Washington advises buyers, sellers, developers, lenders, investors, and contractors on commercial real estate transactions across the United States. He provides practical guidance through every stage of a deal, from contract negotiation to financing, closing, and post-closing matters.

Real Estate Transactions & Development

Mikell represents lenders and borrowers in complex commercial real estate matters involving the acquisition, disposition, financing, development, and leasing of office buildings, multifamily communities, retail centers, and mixed-use projects. He negotiates and drafts purchase and sale contracts, loan documents, leases, easement agreements, joint venture agreements, corporate resolutions, and other agreements supporting clients' business objectives.

As part of his transactional practice, Mikell analyzes title commitments and ALTA/NSPS surveys, identifies encumbrances, drafts title objections, and prepares title survey memoranda.

Finance & Infrastructure Projects

Mikell serves as lender's counsel in tax-exempt and taxable bond financing transactions supporting the acquisition, construction, and improvement of charter schools. He also advises public-sector clients on major infrastructure and development projects, including transportation systems, health care facilities, and water and waste improvements.

Personal Interests

In his free time, Mikell enjoys traveling with friends and family, and watching sports.
