Overview
Lucy Moran counsels clients in litigation matters and provides comprehensive support to businesses that are facing mass tort and product liability risks.
Prior Experience
Lucy gained substantial hands-on litigation and advocacy experience during law school through clinical, government, nonprofit and private practice roles. As a student attorney, and later student director, in the University of Minnesota’s Child Advocacy and Juvenile Justice Clinic, she provided trauma-informed legal representation to juveniles in criminal, family law and post-conviction matters, culminating in her argument of a habeas corpus appeal before the Minnesota Court of Appeals. In addition, Lucy clerked for the Minnesota Attorney General's Office and the Ramsey County Public Defender's Office, externed for Judge Daniel Moreno in Hennepin County District Court, and served as a Justice John Paul Stevens Fellow at the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence in Washington, D.C. These experiences allowed her to hone her research and writing skills across a wide range of practice areas, and also helped her develop confidence and skill in oral advocacy and trial work.
Before attending law school, Lucy served as a legal analyst in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women, where she supported the legal/policy team’s efforts in advancing the nation’s capacity to reduce violence against women.
Personal Interests
Outside of the office, Lucy enjoys swimming, playing sports such as water polo, pickleball and volleyball, reading and going on long walks. Since moving to Minnesota, Lucy has also taken up cross-country and downhill skiing, pursuits she is enthusiastically exploring, even as a self-proclaimed novice at both.
