Layla Mahmood assists public and privately held companies in connection with corporate matters.

Prior Experience

Before joining Faegre Drinker as an associate, Layla completed two summer associate terms at the firm in Minneapolis, where she drafted risk factors for investment firms, researched litigation on earnout provisions, prepared M&A consent forms, conducted securities compliance checks and developed practice recommendations for health plan administrators. She also summarized tax implications for Roth-IRA conversions.

At the University of Minnesota, she served as a legal writing student instructor, leading weekly classes, creating tailored lesson plans, reviewing student work and providing individualized feedback to first-year law students. As a summer law clerk at Wells Fargo, she compiled 50-state surveys and researched employment discrimination laws, preparing memos and supporting department meetings.

Personal Interests

Outside of the office, Layla enjoys taking Lagree classes and traveling. In her spare time, she can often be found reading and exploring local antique shops.
