Mergers & Acquisitions
Reid delivers business-focused legal counsel to buyers, sellers, and institutional investors across a broad spectrum of M&A transactions and strategic investments. He works closely with both public and private companies on transformational and cross-border deals, providing practical guidance that aligns with clients’ commercial objectives. As a trusted advisor and primary point of contact, Reid partners with clients throughout the transaction life cycle, proactively identifying and resolving challenges to keep deals moving forward. He is experienced in drafting and negotiating purchase agreements and ancillary documents, and is committed to delivering responsive, solutions-driven service that supports successful outcomes and long-term client relationships.
Regulatory Guidance
Reid provides strategic regulatory counsel to clients across the grain, alcohol, and energy sectors. He advises on grain buyer regulations and assists clients in navigating complex regulatory audits, helping companies maintain compliance and manage risk in a dynamic marketplace. In the alcohol industry, Reid offers guidance at both the federal (TTB) and state levels, supporting importers, manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers with licensing, compliance, and operational issues. His energy practice spans renewable and traditional projects, working with developers, operators, and lenders on matters related to wind and solar development, as well as energy transportation. Reid frequently interfaces with the Iowa Utilities Board on pipeline and infrastructure matters, delivering practical, business-oriented solutions that enable clients to advance their projects and operations with confidence.
Corporate Governance
Reid advises boards, management teams, and owners on a broad range of corporate governance matters, including fiduciary duties, compliance, and best practices. He helps clients design and implement governance structures that support effective oversight and align with their business objectives.
Prior Experience
Reid served as a summer associate at Faegre Drinker developing funding strategies for a public utility project. He also served as a summer associate at a law firm in Omaha, Nebraska and has interned for Sen. Charles Grassley in Washington, D.C.
Personal Interests
Outside of work, Reid enjoys golfing, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, and spending time with his wife and son.
