Overview

Maria Downham serves clients with litigation and dispute resolution matters.

Maria first came to the firm as a summer associate. She conducted legal research and drafted memoranda on warranty of merchantability, enforcement of contracts and sharing provisions in protective orders. Maria also assisted in drafting court documents, including motions to dismiss and motions to compel. In addition, Maria worked on a prisoner rights pro bono matter.

As a law student intern at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Virginia, Maria conducted legal research and drafted memoranda on evidentiary issues and statutory interpretation, assisted in drafting motions, prepared questions for grand jury proceedings, and led witness preparation meetings.

Before joining the firm, Maria served as a federal law clerk for Hon. James Patrick Hanlon at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
