Olivia Clavio counsels clients in advertising law and intellectual property rights. With extensive experience and a solid understanding of both traditional and digital media, Olivia is dedicated to assisting clients as they navigate the complexities of advertising, promotions and marketing. With a focused approach and commitment to her clients, Olivia helps protect and enhance intellectual property rights in an ever-evolving marketplace.
Her support spans the entire branding journey, including searching, registering and maintaining trademarks; developing effective brand strategies; advertising claim development, substantiation and defense of claims; drafting contest and sweepstakes rules; social media interactive campaigns; user-generated content review; co-promotional agreements; influencer agreements to ensure compliance with legal and industry regulations; and navigating the complexities of intellectual property enforcement.
Olivia represents companies before agencies including the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureaus (NAD). She assists with disputes at all stages, including prelitigation dispute resolution, intellectual property enforcement and protection, discovery, dispositive motions and trial. Olivia also addresses issues related to domain name enforcement, copyright rights, NIL/right of publicity, unfair competition, and provides strategic counsel on packaging and label compliance.
Prior Experience
Before joining Faegre Drinker, Olivia worked at a boutique IP firm where she co-founded a beauty and wellness practice and served as the firm’s counseling practice group leader.
She spent more than a decade in the IP practice of another major law firm, advising clients from Silicon Valley startups to Fortune 500 companies on trademark, advertising, media, sponsorship, licensing, trade name, entertainment, copyright, e commerce and internet law. Prior to her legal career, Olivia worked extensively in media and advertising.
Personal Interests
When she’s not in the office, you’ll find Olivia spending time with her two sons and an endless roster of foster kittens.
