Overview
Allyson Chavez represents clients in complex commercial litigation and dispute resolution. Her experience includes fact development, legal research and analysis, motion practice, deposition preparation, and strategic case planning. Allyson has significant experience managing large-scale factual records and distilling key information to support clear and effective litigation strategies in both federal and state courts.
In addition to her commercial litigation work, Allyson has assisted with matters involving data and emerging technologies. She has contributed to multistate analyses of Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) requirements, assessed biometric technology obligations, and researched regulatory questions related to audio-surveillance technologies. This experience enhances her ability to navigate evidence- and data-intensive matters, further strengthening her litigation practice.
Prior Experience
Before law school, Allyson worked for nearly three years as a paralegal for the Columbia Center for Contemporary and Critical Thought. She participated in a class action lawsuit challenging a number of civil rights violations during the Standing Rock movement opposing the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). She also conducted research on the Freedom of Information Act and supported the drafting of requests for federal agency records.
Allyson was a judicial intern for Justice Pam Jackman-Brown of the New York State Supreme Court.
Personal Interests
Outside of work, Allyson enjoys exploring poetry and literature, cooking, and spending time with her rescue pets.
