John Przypyszny Offers Insight on Department of Ed’s Proposed Accreditation Rules in Washington Monthly

In an article for Washington Monthly, education partner John Przypyszny commented on the Department of Education’s newly proposed accreditation rules, which seek to change what accreditors examine, how they judge institutions, and how federal pressure should be applied.  

According to the article, the proposed rules go beyond opening the accreditation market to more competition, with some arguing the rules exceed the Department’s statutory authority and are vulnerable to legal scrutiny.

Przypyszny added that the proposed rules may be difficult to implement and will likely be challenged in court.
