Beth Carlson Comments on DOL’s H-1B Investigations With Bloomberg Law

In an article for Bloomberg Law, labor and employment partner Beth Carlson commented on the Department of Labor’s (DOL) heightened efforts to investigate H-1B violations.

The article explained a significant shift in the DOL’s investigations under the umbrella of Project Firewall, a new initiative targeting violations of the H-1B specialty occupation visa program. Bloomberg Law states that with the launch of this initiative, DOL leaders have signaled that they intend to rely more on reviews authorized by the labor secretary that aren’t circumscribed by the scope of a complaint.

Carlson added, “The big difference here is there doesn’t need to be a complaint.”
