Jay Brudz Offers Insight Into Use of AI in the Courtroom for Bloomberg Law

In the article “Law Clerk v. AI?” Courthouse Test Highlights Judicial Curiosity,” Bloomberg Law turned to AI-X team co-leader Jay Brudz for insight on how judges and law clerks may use artificial intelligence inside the courtroom.

While some courts are experimenting with AI in writing briefs or compiling information, Brudz urged caution, noting that the use of AI in legal proceedings may incite pushback from the involved parties. Further, he added that existing rules regarding evidence and judicial notice could complicate judges’ ability to use these tools in their research.
