Illinois Takes Further Action to Promote Pay Transparency

Labor and employment partner Lindsey Hogan authored an article for Chicago Lawyer on how employers should review their compensation practices to comply with the amended Illinois Equal Pay Act (IEPA) by January 1, 2025.

Hogan explains that the IEPA requires employers consisting of 15 or more employees to include pay scale information in job postings, which is part of a growing trend in the United States to utilize pay transparency laws as another tool to combat gender and racial pay gaps. She also addresses the potential impact of pay transparency laws on employers.
