Generative AI Brings a New Generation of Legal Issues

Intellectual property partner Ira Kalina and associate Reeya Thakrar coauthored an article for Law360 titled “Generative AI Brings a New Generation of Legal Issues,” which focuses on the potential legal roadblocks to generative AI that will be negotiated, navigated and litigated for years to come.

Kalina and Thakrar discuss the proliferation of generative AI, potential intellectual property concerns, and the contractual and licensing perspective. The authors recommend that as the investment in and use of generative AI tools increase and revenues are generated, data users and providers should reevaluate and consider whether their contractual terms are sufficient enough to prevent litigation.
