POLITICO Recaps Megan Herber’s Insight at American Telemedicine Association’s Conference Panel

In their “Future Pulse” newsletter, POLITICO highlighted key takeaways from the American Telemedicine Association’s (ATA) 2022 annual conference. One popular topic was the COVID-19 public health emergency, which keeps expanded telehealth access in place, and its anticipated expiration.

Faegre Drinker Consulting Director Megan Herber spoke on a panel at the conference and shared that the ATA is pushing for a two- to three-year extension of the rules relaxed during the pandemic after the emergency is lifted. Congress extended several provisions expanding Medicare virtual-care access for five months after the emergency expires.
