Indianapolis Property Taxes Can Finally Reflect Pandemic

Construction and real estate litigation partner Ben Blair authored an article for Indianapolis Business Journal about the impact of the pandemic on the economy and the lack of change on property tax bills over the past two years.

Blair outlines factors that led to owners of property in Marion County to have not seen changes on their property tax bill that reflect the impact of the pandemic, and he notes that this spring will be the first time taxpayers will have the opportunity to highlight the pandemic’s effects on their properties and seek to have their tax bills reduced.

The pandemic has had and will continue to have both short-term and long-term impacts on commercial real estate, says Blair. He also lists a few issues taxpayers should be mindful of if they choose to appeal their assessments.
