Lynne Anderson Comments on New Pay Transparency Laws With SHRM

In “New York City Pay Transparency Law Applies to Remote Jobs,” the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) turned to labor and employment partner Lynne Anderson for her commentary on new pay transparency laws, with New York City joining other jurisdictions like California, Colorado and Washington in requiring employers to list salary ranges in all job postings.

Anderson explained that the new pay transparency laws throughout the country aim to accelerate efforts to close gender and racial pay gaps. “It's starting to become more of a movement,” she said.

“The Biden administration has been very clear that pay transparency and pay equity is a priority,” Anderson noted, predicting that the federal government will require more pay data reporting.
