Faegre Drinker chief diversity officer Maria Lewis and associate Vanessa Tabler coauthored an article for The Legal Intelligencer titled “Say It With Credit: One Important Way to Retain Diverse Attorneys in Big Law.”
Lewis and Tabler discuss how law firms can promote the retention of diverse attorneys through credit — specifically, origination and other monetary credit. The authors highlight the importance of engraining diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the economic structures and systems of an organization, as well as the value of assessing succession plans for firm clients and origination and other forms of economic credit. The article also highlights the role small to mid-size firms play in improving the landscape of promoting diversity.
