Attacking Damage Models in Life Insurance and Annuity Consumer Class Actions

Insurance services partner Dawn B. Williams and associate Laura M. Wall co-authored an article for the Defense Research Institute’s In-House Defense Quarterly Spring 2020 edition titled “Attacking Damage Models in Life Insurance and Annuity Consumer Class Actions.”

Their article reviews some of the ways that damage models have been articulated in life insurance and annuity class actions in recent years, how defense counsel have attacked those models, and with what success. Williams and Wall conclude the article with insights about the most effective arguments to use in defending against class-wide damage theories.
