Policies to Enhance Care of Out-Of-State Pediatric Medicaid Beneficiaries

Faegre Drinker Consulting principal Nick Manetto co-authored an article with Joshua Greenberg, vice president of government relations, and Candace Reddy, senior director of payor relations at Boston Children’s Hospital that examined the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) adoption of several policies in response to the COVID-19 pandemic pertaining to provider screening and enrollment requirements. The piece focused specifically on this issue and its impact on children covered by Medicaid who need care from out-of-state providers and offered several policy recommendations, including pending bipartisan legislation, to permanently address these concerns.
