Kathy Noecker Comments in Law360 on the Increase in Women Leadership Within the Legal Industry

A recent survey highlights that women in law firms continue to make gains in leadership positions, a reflection that the legal industry is becoming increasingly family-friendly. The survey, conducted by Working Mother Media and Flex-Time Lawyers LLC, gave high marks to 50 law firms, including Faegre Baker Daniels.

FaegreBD partner and executive committee member Kathy Noecker told Law360 that the firm's strong female representation in top positions was key to emphasizing the value of female lawyers. A third of the firm's management board seats, a quarter of the executive committee, and five of 16 practice group leaderships are held by women, along with three non-lawyer executive positions, Noecker noted.

She added, "If you talk to any diverse group of lawyers, they want to see people like them that are held out as successful so they can see they can make it, and I think we've shown them the way. When decisions are made, there is a wide array of decision-makers at the table, and that leads to better results."
