Inhaler adherence is everyone’s responsibility: Conclusions of the IPAC-RS Patient Concordance Initiative

Washington, D.C. science advisor Ilse Peterson co-authored an article for Inhalation Magazine on behalf of the International Pharmaceutical Aerosol Consortium on Regulation and Science (IPAC-RS) titled, "Inhaler adherence is everyone's responsibility: Conclusions of the IPAC-RS Patient Concordance Initiative." the article discussed the initiatives and conclusions of IPAC-RS in relation to asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

In 2010, IPAC-RS established its Patient Concordance Steering Committee to bring awareness to challenges faced by patients using inhaled medications. The committee found that, in order to address the issue of poor adherence of medication use, there must be an increased mutual understanding between patients and physicians.
