John Benson Lives on at Faegre Baker Daniels, Andrew Humphrey Tells Star Tribune
While the name "Benson," was dropped when Faegre & Benson merged with Baker & Daniels in 2012 to become Faegre Baker Daniels, "Benson" lives on as the name of the firm's intranet service. Andrew Humphrey explained to the Star Tribune that the idea to name the intranet service after the late John Benson, who joined the firm in 1914 and founded Minneapolis Legal Aid, came from new colleagues at merger partner Baker & Daniels. "Several of them felt bad about [Benson] being left out as we had to consolidate for brevity," said Humphrey. "We have also retained the Benson name for our firm pro bono award. This is a big deal in our firm," Humphrey added.
